Really delighted that your residency has finally come through. That’s such good news. Thank you for sharing some great inspiration. Love Merchant and Mills. I have a pattern from them for a pair of trousers I’d like to make. I’m a little intimidated by it!
Apparently you can find videos that go with all the patterns online, I haven’t looked yet but a friend told me. Good luck. I’ll be getting my sewing machine out once I’m back in Sweden! Xx
So happy for you. Know what oh feels like. I now have an Austrian passport. (My parents left Vienna in 1938, avoiding being exterminated.) my daughters and grandchildren are also applying. Eldest daughter 53, cried in Austrian embassy when they said you are now an Austrian citizen. Was also given a hug!
Congratulations! I love the look of the apartment building you live in. We used to get our household needs (and more!) fulfilled here before Brexit made it fiddly: manufactum.com.
Ahhhh Vajradarshini, I’m so pleased for you. Great news! What a relief for you both. What a celebration you’ll have. Thank you as ever for sharing so many treasures in the midst of it all. My favourite tool is my very heavy pair of dressmaking scissors, Sheffield stainless steel. The sound they make when cutting! It takes me straight back to childhood. I love Merchant and Mills too. Many of my favourite tools for making are from from this treasure house: https://shopbeyondmeasure.co.uk/ Enjoy! XXXX
That looks like a great store. We did some sewing on the retreat, Vilokini led a little workshop on 'Boro' and 'Sassiko' and bought loads of fabric and threads with her. For the rest of the retreat people could be seen sitting and sewing, it created a lovely atmosphere.
I had a long chat with the woman in Labour and Wait and the scissors were her favourite thing in the shop! Such a big difference between good and bad scissors.
Thanks! I think we might have to find Eddie a new owner, looks like it will be too complicated to take him to Sweden. He just passed his MOT with flying colours and I'm sure someone else will enjoy him as much as me!

They look good. Probably fine for me shopping from Sweden?
Yes, it's a very unusual building. The massive inner yard creates a sense of community with all the kids being able to play out.

I wish even more I’d been able to come on that retreat!! Sounds fantastic xxx

I was so happy to read this! When love wins, we all win. 🥰🙏🏼💙
Thank you, I'm so pleased ❤️
Congratulations Vajradarshini, I’m really happy for you both! Now what will happen to Eddie the van? Xx

That is great news Vajradarshini! Having become a US citizen many years ago, I know what that feels like. Well done you! xoxo
Thanks, yes certain people can really empathise! Xx
Congratulations Vajradarshini! So delighted for you.
